Burn Timecode

Burn Timecode Overview

The BurnTimecode function is an effector plug-in which is used for burning a timecode onto the image when rendering or animation rendering is in progress.

Using Burn Timecode

1. Choose Burn Timecode from the Effector pulldown menu of the Effects tab in the Rendering Options and click the Set... button.

2. The Burn Timecode Settings dialog box appears.

3. Configure each item and click OK. The Timecode is drawn on the image after rendering.

Time Code Format

Time Code Format Pull-Down Menu

Choose one from Auto / Time Code / Frame Number.

- Auto

Displays either the timecode or the frame number based on Shade’s Frame / Time Code setting.

- Time Code

Displays the timecode, regardless of the Shade setting.

- Frame Number

Displays the frame number, regardless of the Shade setting.

Position

Defines the position of the timecode.

Horizontal Pull-down Menu

Choose one from Left / Center / Right.

Vertical Pull-down Menu

Choose one from Top / Middle / Bottom.

Margin Text Box

Enter a value for the margin from the edge of the screen (in pixels). Negative values will be changed to zero.

Color

Defines the color of the timecode.

Choose one from Black / Gray / White / Red.

Choose one from None / Black / Gray / White / Red.

Notes on Burn Timecode

- Horizontal and Vertical pull-down menus are set to Right and Bottom respectively, Background is White, and Margin is set to 2 pixels by default.

- This plug-in supports start and end frames for animation rendering.

- Frame numbers are fixed to five digits.

- The characters are equivalent in size to 12pt.

- The Timecode will not be drawn when the rendering size is smaller than the size of the timecode character area.

- The Timecode is also drawn on the alpha channel.

- The Timecode is not drawn for area rendering. |
