This chapter describes the BlurEffector and the StarEffector.

For all other effectors, refer to the Plug-in Manual.

Contents

BlurEffector

The BlurEffector plug-in superimposes the image from the previous frame onto the image in the current frame when rendering an animation.

Using this plug-in, you can express shaking of objects moving at high speeds, or add an effect in which afterimages are generated.

Since the BlurEffector adds a movement effect in the post processing, the rendering is computed as usual without the effect as each frame is rendered. Each time a frame is rendered, the BlurEffector is automatically called, and the plug-in adds 2D movement effects to the rendered image by merging images.

BlurEffector Settings Window

The BlurEffector is enabled by choosing BlurEffector from the Effector pull-down menu, found at the bottom of the Effects tab in the Rendering Settings.

This window will appear when you choose BlurEffector from the Effector pull-down menu and click the Set button to the right of the pull-down menu.

Type Pull-down Menu

The Type pull-down menu has two settings (Average and Progressive) and allows you to set the color density of images in the previous superimposed frames. The Average setting gives all the after-images the same density, while the Progressive setting superimposes after-images more faintly as the images grow older.

Depth Text Box

The Depth text box allows you to set the number of after-images that are merged.

For example, if the Depth is set to 5, the images from 5 frames (including the current frame) are superimposed.

  • As the Depth value gets larger, the number of merged images increases and the density of each image gets inversely fainter. When you set a large value for the Depth, the after-images of earlier frames may be barely visible if the Type is set to rogressive. In addition, immediately after the start frame of an animation, during the period for the number of frames set in the Depth, the number of afterimages is less than the number set for the Depth, since there are not yet enough previous images to use.

Sampling Pull-down Menu

In the Sampling pull-down menu, you can mulNotelex the merging of after-images.

If the Sampling is set to “1x,” images between the current frame and the frame Depth frames before are simply merged.

As the Sampling value gets larger, the density of images in each frame gets fainter. Consider this value in relation to the Depth.

Frame Position

Start Frame / End Frame Text Boxes

The Start Frame and End Frame text boxes allow you to specify the frame range for which the BlurEffector is applied.

The default settings for the Start Frame and End Frame automatically reflect the values set in the From frame and To frame in the Animation Settings window.

The after-images are not merged in the Start Frame, and from the next frame the number of merged after-images increases gradually. If you modify these default settings, no after-images will be generated in the frame immediately after the animation rendering starts.

Stars Effector

This effector is used to merge stars with the background of the rendered image. The size, number, and intensity of the stars can be specified.

Stars Effector Settings

The Stars Effector is enabled by choosing Stars from the Effector pull-down menu in at the bottom of the Effects tab in the Rendering Settings.

This window will appear when you choose Star from the Effector pull-down menu and click the Set button.

Stars Dialog

Size Text Box

Enter the size of the stars to draw in units of pixels.

Number of Stars Text Box

Enter the number of stars to draw.

Intensity Text Box

Enter the intensity of the stars. The larger the value, the more intense the stars are.

Color Color Box

Use the color box to set the color of the stars to draw. The computer’s standard color picker will appear by clicking the color box, enabling you to choose a color. |
