Shade 10 Figure Controller Window

Choose View Controller or Figure Viewto display the Figure Controller window. The Figure Controller window is used to change the Figure window display.

Scrolling the View Plane

The four buttons to the right of the hand pointer icon are used to scroll the Figure window.

Origin Button

Click this button to scroll the center of the view planes to the origin.

Object Button

Click this button to scroll the center of the view planes to the center of the selected object.

When multiple objects are selected, those objects will be considered as one big object, and the view planes scroll to the center of that object.

Cursor Button

Click this button to scroll the center of the view planes to the position of the 3D cursor.

Fit Button

This button is used to change the display scale of the view planes so that all objects fit within the Figure window. Hidden objects will be ignored. This feature is equivalent to the Fit To Window function of the Figure window.

Moving the 3D cursor

The two buttons to the right of the 3D cursor are used to move the 3D cursor.

Origin Button

Click this button to move the 3D cursor to the origin.

Object Button

Click this button to scroll the center of the view planes to the center of the selected object. When multiple objects are selected, those objects will be considered as one big object, and the view planes scroll to the center of that object.

Changing the Sight Line

The two buttons to the right of the camera icon are used to change the Sight line.

Target to Object 1 button

Click this button to move the target point to the center of the selected object. When multiple objects are selected, those objects will be considered as one big object, and the target point scrolls to the center of that object.

Target to Object 2 button

Click this button to move the eye in parallel to the center of the selected object. When multiple objects are selected, those objects will be considered as one big object, and the eye scrolls to the center of that object.

Quick Rendering Settings

The buttons to the right of the quick rendering icon are used to switch the quick rendering (shaded) display on and off.

The buttons to the right of the quick rendering texture icon are used to display the textures.

Top, Front, Side, Pers View Buttons

Click these buttons to switch on/off quick rendering for each of the view planes.

All On Button

Click this button to switch on quick rendering in all the view planes.

All Off Button

Click this button to switch off the quick rendering in all the view planes.

Update Button

Clicking this button will update the quick rendering textures. This button provides the same function as the Update Texture item in the Rendering menu.

Clear Cache Button

Clicking this button will clear the texture cache for quick rendering. This button provides the same function as the Clear Cache item in the Rendering menu.

Clear Button

Clicking this button will update the quick rendering textures. This button provides the same function as the Clear Texture item in the Rendering menu.

Wireframe Button

Clicking this button will show/hide the wireframe display on top of the quick rendering display. This button provides the same function as the Wireframe item in the Rendering menu.

Single-Sided Button

Clicking this button will toggle the single-sided / double-sided display during quick rendering. This button provides the same function as the Single-sided item in the Rendering menu.

All Lights Button

Clicking this button will toggle the light source between all distant lights and “#1” distant light. This button provides the same function as the All Lights item in the Rendering menu.

Smooth Button

Clicking this button will toggle the smooth shading on/off for the quick rendering display.

Saving Figure Controller Window Items in the Shortcut Window

In Shade 10 professional and Shade 9 standard, some of the Figure Controller window functions are accessible from the Plugins menu. The functions displayed in the menu can be saved in the Shortcut menu.
